Portable Auger Elevator

Still earning her keep high houred 7000
This portable auger elevator seems to have captured the market. Every time I see an auger elevator to fill grain bins in a photo or video, it seems to be this design. It is time to start capturing this technology.

I first saw it at a 2016 farm show unloading a wagon and swinging aside to let another wagon drive through.

Some stills from that farm show:

I didn't get a good shot of the twin augers that are in the dump hopper. In this picture, I was focused on the old dump wagon and tractor.

They just grab a rope and pull it to the side for another wagon to drive into position.

And then pull it back behind the wagon when it is in dump position.

I also saw this elevator in a video yesterday, but I watched a lot of them yesterday and can't remember where I saw it.

You know, when someone says "auger tractor" to me, this is not what immediately comes to mind...Jeff Harris Might be little overkill

[I skipped the usual endless scenes of combines going down a field. I'm more interested in how big grain carts have become and the usage of the portable bin elevator auger. Notice how fast the grain cart can fill the truck.]

[They use a gravity wagon as a buffer so that they can quickly unload the grain cart and get back to the field while the auger is still filling the bin. Keep watching because they show moving the elevator to the other bin.]

[According to the comments, this is the only A-C model with this type of grill.]

Harvest back in full swing after some rain.
[Evidently they are using the semi-trailer as a buffer between the high speed of the grain trailer and the lower speed of the grain bin elevator. That is, the tractor can quickly dump his load in the truck trailer and get back to the field and it will slowly dump into the bin elevator during his next trip. They also evidently had the truck trailer full from the previous chance they had to get into the field.]
