[This 0:47 video has views that let you see how the plow turns over the soil. And why the field needs to dragged afterwords to smooth it out. It also captures the sound of a John Deere putt-putt tractor.]

1942 501 cubic inch two cylinder hand cranked. 29 Drawbar HP, 37 HP at belt pully.
[I knew the cylinders were big in this 2-cylinder tractors. But I did not realize they were 250 cubic inches each! I remember the size of the V-8 in my 1972 Ford Torino was 351 cubic inches. That was the default for the sport model. Fortunately, I had it as an  big-engine option in a regular model because that is what was on the dealer's lot so my car insurance was lower than the sport model rate.]
A video of starting a B with the flywheel. Johnny Popper explains that both cylinders fire during the first cycle and both are compressing during the second cycle. This video is running the engine slowly enough that you can hear each cylinder fire and then the pause before they fire again.

Well this past weekend I had a thought about taking the following photo. It literally has something for just about everyone who likes the "30 series" from industrial, LP, standards, utility, to row crops.

John Deere stuck with 2 cylinders for a long time. Big Four introduced four cylinders in 1908.

Harold Gentner posted three pictures of his 730 diesel. And Brad Rozema posted the G, 70, and 720.

A video of a "johnny popper bailing." It's "putt putt" is a lot faster than I have ever heard a JD run. I went back to verify the baler is PTO driven so the tractor must be in a low gear and running fast to provide the needed PTO speed and power. Talking about low gear, note that a couple of men are keeping up with an easy walking speed.

This 1:03 video of a 2-cylinder 12-24 Hart-Parr also had the putt-putt sound.
